It has been 35 days since that statement went out for his minor fall and minor pneumonia and they don't even have a new statement.

So look, Governor Andy Beshear is saying he owes like an explanation or whatever.

But like I want to discuss this with Brett because at this point I don't know which would be weirder.

For them to cart in his carcass, and it turns out that he was actually dead this whole time.

And, you know, we learned through the pandemic that those were the people that were quote unquote, the quote unquote pandemic, that those are the people that were least affected by uh the the covid disease whatever you want to call it pandemic so i look forward to seeing um what colonel long puts out again i've seen her presentation a couple times a few times now and i think that um i think she's already got what she needs and now it's just a matter of putting it all together in a presentation so hopefully it's not within a year it's much shorter than that um This is the last thing before I play these next two clips that will kind of close out the show.

So on Monday, the Senate is scheduled to return.

And the question is, will Senator Mitch McConnell be there? I have still heard absolutely nothing from the senator.

They don't think the answer to anybody.

And I think in this set of elections, the American people have to remind them that they do.

Oh, Andy Beshear.

I mean, he's got a decent point, but of course, he's all on ridiculous premises about how things are going to go and what the current relationship that the American people have with their government actually is.

Two, we're going to work with the utility and build new generation to drive prices down.

As long as we can educate the local community, then we'll get like the positive, you know, bill of health that we got from Governor Beshear in Kentucky, who said Tara Wolf is doing it right.

Yeah, and it's quite clear.

It's quite right there.

So as you might have surmised from a Republican talking about having changed and grown and advocating for replacing a monument to the Confederacy with one of a Black war hero, Kentucky's politics are a little different.

Nothing embodies that more than the fact that in a state whose legislature is a Republican supermajority has elected a Democratic governor, Andy Beshear, not once but twice.

Beshear was instrumental in the original removal of Jefferson Davis back in 2020.

Okay, so it is 4.30 in the morning.

I am flying from New York to D.C. on a very last minute flight.

Look, 4.30 a.m. is not my strong suit, but I'd gotten an invitation just days before to be part of an influencer-focused series of interviews that Andy Beshear was giving.

The invitation had come from a contact in New York, so I assumed that I'd be doing the interview locally.

And we're going to bring the message and show that contrast directly to the American voters.

I want to read to you something that the Kentucky Democratic Governor Andy Beshear said today.

I'll quote him directly.

If Donald Trump wants to hold a convention saying this election is about him, I fully support his decision to hold a convention saying this election is fully about him.

If you are for gas being higher, vote for Donald Trump, the Republican candidate.

Otherwise, vote for the Democrat.

How do you respond to Andy Beshear, the governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky?

Listen, thanks, Andy, but no thanks, because the Democrats have told you what they want.

The statehouse is deep red.

But our governor is Andy Beshear, a Democrat who has been elected twice now.

It's a hard state to pin down politically, though Amber has a theory.

There's a lot of old blood and good old boys kind of stuff that plays in.

Protests spread across the country.

Cities started taking a hard look at who they were honoring in their public squares.

And in Frankfort, Kentucky, Governor Andy Beshear ordered the removal of the Jefferson Davis monument that had stood in the state capitol rotunda for nearly a century.

Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy, honored for 100 years in the capitol building of a state that didn't even secede.

The Kentucky senator's staff is telling Senate leaders that he will return when the Senate reconvenes on Monday, September 14th, after their summer recess.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, a Democrat, says he has not heard from McConnell and he's calling for transparency about the 84-year-old lawmaker's health.

There are no reports of McConnell being seen publicly since his hospitalization on June 14th.

Well now to the posthumous honor for the late great Dolly Parton.

I was just thinking of Joe Biden and him kind of being brain dead.

Mitch McConnell still has not reported to Governor Beshear.

So no update on Mitch McConnell.

Again, he's still, I think he's just dead.

Representative James Comer of Kentucky also told reporters last week He has spoken to McConnell's staff, and it's their goal for him to return to the Senate on September 14th when they reconvene from recess.

Of course, Andy Beshear, governor of Kentucky, has pressured McConnell for more transparency, but we have gotten none.

And I'm going to keep covering it as we should.

We need to cover all of this that mainstream media should really, really be on, like investigating like there is no tomorrow.
