But before we do that, how did you come to find yourself researching Save the UNN?

It's a slightly long story, but I'll try and debride.

I first did a ShareSafe research project in 1999, once again, showing the age, which was a project organized by ProShare, Abbey National, and Halifax Employee Share Services.

And the background to this was that the share incentive plan was in the process of being introduced.

And there was a very considerable anxiety in the share plan community at the time that as it came in, SAY would be abolished on the grounds that it didn't lead too long to share ownership.

Well, I was on the Inland Revenue Committee that was developing the SIP and EMI at the time.

then it was that I could provide some academic input to the survey that ProShare was organising, as well as be able to feed that back into the Inland Revenue.
