You know, again, you know, I brought it up at the press conference, uh, yesterday.

When we were, um, when we were, um, working with, uh, Andy Luger on the highs and lows, nobody said that we had to call them the Black gangs, right? I mean, so w- yeah, we, we are recognizing the problem.

But it's the people who are downright just racist and nasty that are making a bigger issue out of this than it has to be.

Mm-hmm.

They expose a fraud, they work with local and federal law enforcement, and they brought those cases and they have still gotten a bulk of those cases and those people convicted.

because of the actions of Andy Luger, who I put in play.

Oh, boy.

That's doing the real work.

Look, I think the work of the county attorney is to be a good partner to, to everybody across Hennepin County in, in, in every facet of, of, of our community.

And my endorsements and the work I've done throughout my career reflect that I've built that credibility over my career, and I know, because I have the track record to show, that this work is so critically important that folks like Mayor Frey, sh- folks like DeWaun Dowitt, folks like former US Attorneys Todd Jones and Andy Luger, um, have, have gotten behind me and, and my campaign.

And you know, I've had the good fortune to work with so many people across our kind of public safety spectrum, to include Attorney General Ellison, to include Ramsey County Attorney John Choy.

The, the good news about Minnesota is in general, people work together, but always people need experienced leadership to get this work done the right way.

Coming up, uh, next, gosh, it may be, uh, next week.

It'll be in the next couple episodes certainly, is, uh, Andy Luger, who will be in studio with me, one-time US attorney.

I, I, uh, saw him the other night and I introduced him to someone and, and said, "This is the fellow that was, uh, warming the seat for Daniel Rosen." [laughs] And he loved it.

He laughed, but he, he, uh, he didn't like it, of course.

Wonderful guy, Andy Luger, and we will, uh, debate the issues of the day.

Uh, both, uh, great lawyers.

But what I did know in my job as the US senator, what I did know was when it first came public, I took immediate action.

I had already gotten Andy Luger in the job as US attorney, which actually, there was other names in, in the mix, and I pushed very hard for him, not knowing about the fraud at the time, but believing that he would be tough on crime and would be a good leader for the office.

Then, when I heard about the fraud, and Andy has told this story himself, I immediately called him when it was public, when law enforcement brought it forward, and I called him and said, "What do you need? This seems really bad." And he said, "I need more prosecutors." I called the number two at the Justice Department, and I asked for more resources.

And I said, "This is...

And Obama.

He worked under both of them and did just fine, had no problems, and he's been endorsed by, like, Andy Luger, who's a Democrat.

Mm-hmm.

Remember? He's endorsed him.

We are gonna talk about ICE and the surge, as, uh, it's been called by Donald Trump, uh, ICE in the city of Minneapolis, uh, many months ago.

It'll be interesting to get his, uh, take on it.
