Jessica O'BeirneHOST
And, like, what is, how did it get started? Is there more you can tell us about that?

Andrew ChuppGUEST
It was, I forget his name that developed it, but he just wanted more inclusion in sport.

Andrew ChuppGUEST
And originally it was called the Gay Olympics until the IOC was having none of that.

Andrew ChuppGUEST
But the goal was to basically be what the Olympics is, the community, world building, all of that.

Andrew ChuppGUEST
loved it there at that time really wasn't a path forward into adult gymnastics or anything so the next best thing for me was competitive cheerleading and I was young enough as a senior in high school to be able to super senior on a competitive cheer team that was like local to the area so I did that my first year in college but still like on a high school team because I was young enough and that was incredible and life-changing it like blended all the things that I love together it was like performance in kind of a theatery way mixed with gymnastics and it was like the best thing ever I did that for I competed for a year and then when I aged out of that I did the adult team for a little while and then just kind of life took me in other areas, I ended up getting just a small coaching job at a gym because I was looking for work.

Andrew ChuppGUEST
And, you know, I think I did like one semester of like teaching the little rec classes and then they wanted me to do team stuff.
