Amen.

Amen.
0:02
Thank you.
0:03
Well, good morning again, everyone.
0:04
It is lovely to be here.
0:05
It's always nice to be in Keswick, isn't it? I live all the way down on the southeast coast in Bexhill, but any time I'm asked to come up here, I'm always keen to say yes, partly just because though it's a trek, and it was a trek yesterday with train delays and re-routings and all sorts, it is always a joy to be here.

For example, bringing justice is a major thing that trumps everything else, and therefore they have a different view on the subjects you've raised.
42:02
Yes, really great question.
0:02
Thank you very much.
0:03
Good morning, everybody.
0:04
Welcome back to those who were here yesterday.
0:06
Hello to those who weren't.
0:09
I'm glad we've got a bit more time to continue exploring the importance of worldviews, how those can help us in parenting, in engaging with children and with young people.
0:19
And I wanna first just do a very quick recap of some of the introductory stuff for yesterday.

... does the Bible teach in a healthy and reliable way?"
48:22
Yeah.
5:44
Can you say something about why it's helpful just to, for us to sort of step, uh, one, one step back almost i- in those kinds of conversations we might have, particularly with non-believers?
5:54
Yeah.
5:55
What I think you've hit on exactly there is the fact that we all have a worldview.
5:59
Maybe we don't realize it and don't think about it.
6:01
So your, your worldview being your kind of, your most fundamental foundational set of beliefs, which literally forms the foundation of all your thinking and all your living.
6:10
Or sometimes I use the illustration of a set of glasses.
6:12
I wear glasses.

18:56
Does this approach sort of tap into that greater openness as well? Is it helpful? A- and also is, is this something you're seeing as well, a greater openness?
3:18
How do you explain the fact that the Christian sexual ethic and gender ethic is not just good, but beautiful?
3:26
Well, that's such a good question.
3:27
There's so much in there, isn't there? First thing to say is I do think it's good and beautiful.
3:32
And I think we can unpack that.
3:34
But also when someone's bringing those kind of questions, thoughts, I always want to unpack with them those things.
3:38
I think the risk is we can be so committed.
3:41
As you say, it slips off the tongue easily.

What's a Christian worldview of progress?
JezHOST
23:57
So talk to us about what you write about in that chapter and why considering people's authorities is important.
24:04
I think this is key because so often people's objection, in fact, I came across it somewhere really clear the other day online, I think it was, people's objection to Christian teaching on sexuality, which says that sex and marriage are reserved for life and union to a man and a woman.
24:17
And one of the implications of that is that same-sex sexual relationships aren't acceptable to God.
24:23
And people say, well, how can that possibly be right? Because what's the harm actually of someone following their desires and being in a same-sex relationship? And that's a statement about authority.
24:32
That's assuming that actually harm is the only authority that makes something wrong.
24:38
And actually we should be authorities.
24:40
We should get to decide what we do.

6 MINS LATER

JezHOST
30:28
And how do you respond to people who talk like that and do things like that? What should we as Christians make of that?
12:34
Your wisdom here for heterosexual singles who are struggling with celibacy but recognizing that's a biblical foundation.
12:46
Yeah, which is so important.
12:47
I think it's easy to overlook, in a sense, that particular group.
12:52
And I think we do need to make sure that we as churches are supporting them.
12:55
Various things I think that can be helpful.
12:56
One is sometimes some of our big battles around sexuality in general and seeking to be a cultural narratives around us.
13:06
I think in the West, there's such a strong cultural narrative that sex is basically a need.
