And so I hopped on the first flight I could.

We jumped out this morning with a serve and pass with Andy Benesh and Taylor Crabb.

And so tomorrow, I'll be jumping in the main draw.

Uh, right now we're seeded 10 to play Cody Caldwell.

But as far as heritage events, league, this is the finale.

Um, so we got some storylines coming in.

First off the bat, starting with the men, Andy Benesh, Taylor Crabb.

So far they have the California Sweep, won AVP Huntington Beach, won AVP Manhattan Beach, won the Wedbush Hermosa Open, and then now they're trying to make it four for four in California with Huntington.

Uh, so a huge shout-out to Mark for putting on that event.

A decent prize money for the winners, 15K to split for Kelly Chang and Megan Kraft and Andy Benesh and Taylor Crabb.

And so just before we get into any of that, just a, a massive thank you, a shout-out.

Um, I love doers.

Not a Crabb boil, it's a Crabb feast.

Uh, so they go back, rematch in the finals with Partain and Le Boulier.

Two points in, Jacob rolls his ankle, he can't go, forfeit dub for Andy Benesh and Taylor Crabb.

Now, I don't want the forfeit to take anything away.

I don't know where I was last year, but I didn't play.

Year one of the Hermosa Open played with Andy Benesh, um, and then this is kind of my first high-level tournament since.

We'll see how far Cody can carry me.

We're the big seven seed in the main draw.

Uh, and then also I will be, when I'm in Hermosa, uh, per the request of Taylor and Trevor Crabb, I will be recording an episode with the Crabb brothers.

Uh, so you can go ahead and get your popcorn ready.

Uh, just to give you a little teaser, it is about the Norceca Championship Qualifier that happened in Manhattan Beach the other day, where Taylor Crabb and Andy Benesh, they make the finals up against the number one seed, Chase Budinger and Trevor Crabb, and it came back-- came down to a big [microphone thuds] rock, paper, scissors battle.

Uh, and we're gonna chat about why they did a rock, paper, scissors, um, and, uh, and what's going on there.

I, I think, um, I...

Anytime I talk to-- So after I finished playing, like, I was talking with Andy Benesh, who I think played, uh, with Billy for a while, or not I think, I know, but led, and Paul Lotman too, and, um, I think one of the things that I said anytime I talked to those guys, like, in the midst of it, was just like, "Billy's like jumping into a warm pool on the court." Like, you just get in and you're immediately comfortable.

You kind of have this, I don't know, everything feels, like, fluid and smooth and crisp and, like, but, like, very little pressure.

Sometimes you jump on the court with a partner and it's like, "Oh, I gotta perform," but, like, um, and there's, like, almost this threat state that you enter versus Billy was just like, "Man, this feels good." Like, "This just feels right." Um, and so I think that as you saw throughout Billy's multiple decade career, um, just guys that were readily available to just jump in, and I think Billy provided for me specifically, um, just a steady, stable foundation for us as a team.

[laughs] Well, y- that actually sort of wraps it up.
