First of all, can you paint us a picture of street drug use in Toronto?

Well, it's a pleasure to be here, Stuart.

I kind of feel like things have changed a lot over the years, and street drug use in Toronto, uh, has been framed through the lens of, of folks who are unhoused and folks experiencing mental ill- mental illness and, and obviously there's folks that are using substances.

But it kind of feels like all those folks get lumped together.

With the k- kind of present affordability crisis, uh, you know, which I know you guys are feeling over here also, you know, whereas in, in the past a, a lot of the, the, uh, unhoused folks were kind of around the, the center of the city in Toronto, it's kind of like sprawled out a little bit.

But, uh, unfortunately, there's a lot of folks on kind of the other side of things who a- aren't so keen on harm reduction and have kind of weaponized that narrative to say-- to make it seem like, okay, this stuff is all tied into drug use or homelessness when, you know, in fact, I've spoken to, to many of those folks, and they're not necessarily people who are using drugs in all cases.

What's the situation, uh, in Toronto in relation to safe consumption rooms? I know quite a few have closed down recently.
