Andong

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the first frost arrived in the northern part of Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, six days earlier than last year and a day later than the annual average.

In Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, the first frost came six days earlier than last year and two days ahead of average.

Observatories also logged the first ice of the season in northern Chuncheon six days earlier than last year and a day ahead of average.

Thursday morning lows plunged by some 10 degrees Celsius from Wednesday, with the mercury at minus 6.6 degrees Celsius on Mount Seorak, minus 3.5 degrees in the mountainous region of Daeguallyeong, minus 1.3 degrees in the inter-Korean border town of Cheorwon, and 5.2 degrees in Seoul.

... we're kind of talking about something fun today.

Yeah, instead of royal kings, um, we're headed towards back to Andong.

Ooh, Andong.

And we're going, mm-hmm, and we're going to talk about traditional Korean entertainment.

If you want to point your finger at one group of people that were responsible for the fall of this whole system, it's the Andong Kims.

Just a quick thing to mention here.

And then in 1940, a major historical discovery provided a more... precise reference.

So a copy of the Hunminjeongeum Haerebon, the original text explaining the principles behind Hangul was discovered in Andong in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.

And that copy contained a reference indicating that Hangul had been proclaimed during the first 10 days of the ninth lunar month in 1446.

So anywhere between the first and the 10th of the 9th lunar month.

So it's, um, you know, there's not really a lot of options, I don't think, to move to a, a, a new city.

Now there's, there were some rumors that one of them was Andong, which is not too far from Gimcheon, Sangju-
