If you are sick, you do not have to play.

I will say it over and over again I give them at least three before we ever go on air and we'll do an interview talking part first before they ever play and that strategy is just if I can get them talking a bit they don't have to be sick now we don't do any interviews live but if they come up at nine thirty that's still early to most artists to come up and talk and then eventually play because you got to think they don't play anything until late afternoon at the earliest most the time in the evening so I'll do whatever talking interview part first just to loosen them up a little bit not even just to loosen them up if they're nervous or uh if they're they're sleepy but just their vocal cords right so we'll do that but sometimes I'll get nervous if I've never heard them play live that if they play live it's going to be bad so that would be if what I get nervous about but not because of me what's one thing longtime listeners understand about you or the show that newer listeners usually get wrong I think if you hear us fighting about something and you're a newer listener you think we're fighting about something and that that's real as in that's something long lasting or honestly that's something that's gonna last fifteen minutes it's not the great thing about having all the same crew for at the at the the lowest Eddie fifteen years the highest Amy and Lunchbox over twenty is that man we've been through all the fights we're also uh we're also mature now for the most part and rarely and I can't think of the last time there was an actual fight that kept on going I mean the palette got a little emotional from Lunchbox sometimes he gets a little ragey and that's scary but the fights don't last and also man they're just not real fights because if I can see in someone's eye that it is getting dangerous I'll defuse it now I've missed before and sometimes it does get a little emotional and sometimes it's funny and I can almost let it go a little longer because I know no one's gonna hold that in their pocket for a day a week a month or so I think if you're a new listener you go dang this those people hate each other and that's just not the case we've been disagreeing for a long time halfway through five questions left how will you know when it's time to stop doing the show whenever they tell me that's it that's what I think I think whenever the company says hey we're good appreciate you and I go all right good run good run good run appreciate you as a success I mean if the show ended today as you hear this it'd be one of the most successful shows in the history of radio that's pretty cool so what are you gonna do say thanks they could they they absolutely could but that I mean that's the answer to me as of right now now I don't know what other health issues could happen and God forbid but the answer to that question how will I know when to stop doing the show it's whenever they say stop doing this show and I'll probably do some other kind of show or not you know or or not for a while at least but that's how I'll know for now ask me again in three months who knows what my answer will be four questions left what's the thing that you do right after the show ends I'm assuming they say the first thing uh right after the show ends so what kind of sucks for everybody and it doesn't suck for me because I also don't know the answer but I get to control the outcome is that I tell everybody when you're cut and sometimes I cut people individually at the end of the day never at the end of the show because honestly I mean today because again I'm recording this on Monday night I was recording until 3 p.m. Mike D and I were there until 3 Eddie left about 1 15 Eddie and Kevin did the rest of the crew left about 12 45 so some days rarely we'll get out like 11 but I think what isn't wholly understood is all the other things that we have to do that's not just on the air because it's a lot and also we do a whole as you guys know if you're listening to this you for sure know we do a whole basic hour that we don't have to do like we have never been told one single time by anybody in our company you need to do an accompaniment podcast every single day which is the part two never so but we do and it's about an hour every day like everybody could go home an hour earlier but they I mean we all could we don't because I want to do that because I think you guys deserve that I think if you're a podcast listener you have a different expectation of the media that you're consuming and it's very podcast feeling and there's a difference in broadcast feeling and podcast feeling and part one is mostly broadcast although we've started to extend some segments now for part one to make it a little more podcast friendly you may have noticed that But the first thing that I do after the show ends I try to get home immediately and see the baby, and if my wife needs me to help with the baby, help with the baby immediately.

Now that's the thing I do not stay.

After the sh- as soon as the show ends, when I cut everybody, that's what I do.

Like today I saw one, and I remember telling Scuba Steve in the studio that it was the one about the volleyball.

We were talking about women's sports or maybe just sports in America, and I was talking about volleyball and how the Nebraska volleyball team had played in front of 90,000 people at the Nebraska football stadium.

And it's a pretty interesting topic, and we were talking about just sports in general, some, some list Amy had.

But the tease was really bad.
