That's your-

I think a lot of this is personal preference too, right? Like it's, it's values alignment, it's personal preference, and it's also, I think, you know, we're an-- I, traditional man, I'm not aware of your age bracket, but Andrea and I are both 50, 51.
8:34
Um, and you know, there are histories-
12:38
Amy?
12:38
Your playbook is exhausting to me, traditional man.
12:41
I love that you have it, and we all need a playbook of sorts.
12:44
Thankfully, there are not three colors to choose from on this planet, but more than eight billion people with which we get to choose to find alignment and, um, value-- [chuckles] both values and even just, you know, everyday fun alignment.
12:58
Um, uh, you'll find your person if that is what you want.

27:25
No, go ahead.
27:27
I'm just, I find your approach to that.
27:31
I think emotional safety, first of all, let me validate that.
27:33
Emotional, creating emotional safety is huge and kudos for having that on your radar if that was your motivation for your direction of conversation.
27:43
On the other hand, when you have a woman like Andrea or myself in front of you, We don't necessarily need you to create that emotional safety for us.
27:54
Not that, but as far as conversational topic, a well-boundaried, grounded, centered woman won't have any issues with letting you know what she is and is not comfortable talking about, I think would be my point.
28:07
So maybe relinquishing a little bit of that and kind of letting the other person guide it as they feel appropriate as well.

A great guy, why not give him something that is out there publicized for the world to see? To me, whether I'm not saying I am right or I am wrong, it's more so a question of logic.

Welcome back to From Mrs.

To Ms.

Before we jump in, this is part two of my conversation with Amy Watts, all about long-distance relationships.
0:11
So if you haven't listened to part one yet, go back and start there because we covered trust, communication, the fantasy versus reality, and so much more.
0:21
And I also created a free 15-question long-distance relationship reality check to help you figure out if you're building something real or falling for the fantasy.

You'll find the link in the show notes.

38 MINS LATER

38:13
Meh.
38:13
Because again, you have this big, beautiful life.
4:20
Well played.
4:21
So yeah, let me take you to 2022.
4:24
So I lived about two and a half hours south of Chicago and I knew I wasn't staying in the area.
4:29
Also a semi, like a mid-sized city.
4:32
But you know, the pool is small, right? So I knew I wasn't going to date there.
4:37
So I knew immediately when I started, I say that, but then I ended up dating someone for a year who I was introduced to by a mutual friend.
4:44
But outside of that one person, I knew it was going to be quote long distance.

30 MINS LATER

34:29
And I love that because it, it softens that angst or anxiety that I was feeling, right? Let
5:12
Yeah, I think a lot of people
5:13
find carousels very daunting, I think, because there's like a blank canvas to work with and you have to design something and you have to figure out a layout and it feels very...
5:22
Yeah, daunting, but really it's pretty simple when you bring it back to kind of the essence of what a carousel needs to be.
5:29
I think I always think of carousels as like the perfect format for when you want to express like a fully formed idea, or if you want to express a story or maybe you want to follow a thought, but in a way that's more easily referenced.
5:43
So you could do the same thing with a video.
5:45
You know, it's a great way to kind of tell a story or express what you're thinking about something or how you're feeling or an experience that you had.
5:51
But it's much harder for people to then go back and find that one moment in a video that they really liked.

16 MINS LATER

22:00
That's always my biggest piece of advice to
48:29
Yeah,
48:30
exactly.
48:30
Okay.
48:31
So we are trailblazers in that we are redefining what life after 45 looks like.
48:36
And we are the first generation to do this, right? So we don't have a model and example ahead of us.
48:42
And we're setting the model and the tone for the women coming up behind us.
48:46
Now, I don't want to say in defense of men, but also exists, I'm guessing, this potential confusion for the guy as this entire shift is happening, right? And our generation, again, we're the trailblazers here.
53:53
So
