they really were not it's hard to believe now so um i just wanted to do the you know those kind of movies and um i had the opportunity you know one of my good friends was amy pascal one of the you know great producers and uh today And she and I shared a love of this book, Little Women, when we were little girls.

It kind of inspired us.

And we really wanted to make that movie.

But if there is a family that loves movies, that wants to make movies, maybe it does go back a little bit to that feeling.

But let's also talk about relationships for a second because you mentioned Little Women.

So you're friends with Amy Pascal, who is famous for when she was running the studio, was all about filmmakers and taking risks and loved to shoot from the hip and really leaned on her filmmakers a lot.

And the list goes on and on, and now she's obviously one of the best producers to ever have done it.

Richard Osmond jumped start of the Jack Loudon bandwagon back in August when he let it slip that the insider chatter pointed straight at Loudon, taking over Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Osmond claimed just a month after producer Amy Pascal hinted during the Spider-Man press day that we'd have an official reveal before the end of the year.

As we approach the fall, time is running out.

Pascal and David Heyman are steering the reboot for Amazon MGM following the end of the Broccoli and Mice Michael G. Wilson era.

for us tom is such a consummate professional and he made everybody feel great that day about that news he couldn't get into details and all the stuff and they've you know of course now we know they actually tom fought very hard to convince them to keep this and that's how we end up i think believe getting brand new i mean um No Way Home and then, you know, now we have Brand New Day and it's proven like, Amy Pascal, don't make another stupid mistake by taking him away.

Like, take the money that is being made on this behalf because they're benefiting hard from this.

You know what I mean? Taking it away is just being bitter and envious of the fact that MCU did a much better Spider-Man movie than you guys did.

Kevin Feige and everybody else made the decision making on how that movie was gonna be.

Amy Pascal and all of them had nothing to do with that.

We need to clear that up.

So getting to see Cage bring a flesh and blood version of that idea to the screen was a huge part of the appeal for me, and the pedigree behind the camera is real too.

The series was developed with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, the Oscar-winning team behind Into the Spider-Verse, And Harry Bradbeer, the Emmy-winning director of Fleabag, directed and executive produced the first two episodes, with Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serving as the showrunners.

On top of all that, this is actually the first starring role in a TV series for Nicolas Cage, which feels almost impossible to believe given how long the man has been working, but here we are.

All eight episodes landed in May, and on Prime Video, you can watch it in both black and white and colour versions.

And, uh, Amy Pascal, who, you know, I had met when she was kind of an assistant to a producer who lived in London and was gone all the time, so she ran his office here, and she would just, like, call up people whose scripts she has read and s- uh, call them in for meetings, you know? And she was, like, 26 years old.
