Amos 2

Her king will go into exile.

He and his officials together, says the Lord." Amos 2.

This is what the Lord says.

Moab will go down in great tumult, amid war cries and the blast of the trumpet.

At times, their prayers are an argument or a complaint, but it is always an intercession that awaits and prepares for the intervention of the Savior God, the Lord of history.

That comes from Amos 2, Isaiah 6, Jeremiah 1, Jeremiah 15, Jeremiah 20, which we're reading today, 7 through 18.

So there's some more of that that should be read as well.

And then we go on to our second reading, which is the book of, or our psalm reading.

[soft instrumental music] Yes.

And God showed His delight in it by writing in Amos 2:9 that, "I will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen." [soft instrumental music] Are you coming alive? Yes, sir.

Come on, come on.

I thought I came with a generation that seeks Him.

I want to end today.

I want to go to the book of Amos, and it's Amos 2.

And in verse 6, it says, This is what the Lord says.

For three sins of Israel, even four I will not relent.

The Book of Amos is an extremely important text today for both Jewish and Christian social activists, especially as it concerns the destitute and those who cannot help themselves.

Amos 2, 6 and 7, 5, 10 through 12, 6, 3 through 7, 12, 8, 4 through 6.

Of course, these are some of the major concerns of the Torah which Amos insisted his audience remember.

Interestingly enough, the labor movement in the early state of Israel took many of the themes of Amos very seriously.
