had enough.
Wyan SchreiberGUEST

No, the one story I do say is that going to school, when I was driving to school in the morning, we'd drive by Privilege, well, back then it was Coup, and Amnesia, and I'd always ask my mom, and it'd be like, what are these people doing? And they'd come out of the foam party, covered in foam, and I'm eight years old, like, what are they doing, mom? They need to shower or whatever.
Wyan SchreiberGUEST
9:34
It was always a good memory.
Wyan SchreiberGUEST

So when I came back and I was 18, the first place I went to was the foam

times, but yeah.
Grego O’HalloranHOST
10:58
I worked running an after-party.
Grego O’HalloranHOST

It was a party for Amnesia on Sunday at S-Paradise, and that was the first club I worked in, in Ibiza for Clockwork Orange in 99, I think.
Grego O’HalloranHOST
11:08
It's still exactly the same.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:15
And I was going every single year, five or six times a year.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:19
It was 83 that I got a job at Amnesia.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:23
Ah.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:24
That's where I started.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:25
Right.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:26
I was a resident at Amnesia, but it didn't last long.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:29
It lasted for about not even a month.
Trevor FungGUEST
5:32
So I decided to stay out there in 83, and then I went back out in 84.
Clara GriffinHOST
25:41
Do you remember any of your biggest moments or highlights?
Terry FarleyGUEST
25:48
In Ibiza, the best nights I've ever had was definitely the opening party in 1989 at Amnesia, which again was Paul Oakenfold.
Terry FarleyGUEST
25:58
He used to have a little office just off in Chiswick.
Terry FarleyGUEST
26:04
And he said I'm coming coming, you know, there's just there's this thing going on in Ibiza.
Terry FarleyGUEST
26:16
Yeah And he said you can't put my name because he's mentioned in drugs.
Terry FarleyGUEST
26:21
You can't put my name Yeah, there were the early days and it was like it was literally the I mean we wasn't you when I could say it's the first Imprint I would be like I'll be stretching it because we were a fanzine, we weren't a big magazine.
Terry FarleyGUEST
26:37
But it was the first article, I think, that kind of talked about that club scene at Amnesia and what was going on and Ecstasy.
Terry FarleyGUEST
26:46
And he said, oh, I've got tickets for the opening, which coincided with being Boy George's birthday.
Kurt HurstGUEST

To get through the hard times, you'd be like, it's all good, mate.
Kurt HurstGUEST

We'll be on Amnesia Terrace one day.
Kurt HurstGUEST
0:14
We used to say that because me and him shared so many memories on that dance floor.
Kurt HurstGUEST
0:18
We've had some of the best nights of our lives there.

6 MINS LATER

Kurt HurstGUEST

Like in order to make it, my belief is if you don't have the passion in this industry, you won't get very far at all.
Kurt HurstGUEST
6:31
It's what actually drives you through the hard times.
Kurt HurstGUEST
6:34
And luckily for me and Josh specifically, i think we both found someone in each other that had that same shared passion so like there's two sides of it as well like i was always looking to make sure i did right by him and he didn't want to let me down as well so it was like two people super passionate about their craft him being the music me being the promoter that has just driven us through this full thing and i think people don't see that behind closed doors like if we look back I don't know, even five years, me and him would message each other saying, wait till we're on Amnesia Terrace.
Kurt HurstGUEST
7:11
Like that was our thing that we said.
Damian GelleGUEST
39:56
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Damian GelleGUEST
39:57
I mean, I, I remember being at Amnesia and j- just seeing Sven pull his white singlet over his head.
Damian GelleGUEST
40:03
You know, he's such a performer and he just, he got it over his head and he's, you know, he, I don't know if he knew where he was.
SteveHOST

Damian GelleGUEST

I want to do Amnesia.
Damian GelleGUEST

I want to...
Andy WilsonGUEST
24:15
From the pre-internet age, Jose started DJing in the 70s.
Andy WilsonGUEST
24:19
He was born in 56, I think, or 55 or 56. and he just had this knowledge that you know he just picked it up by osmosis you know just by being around it and because in Spain there wasn't like great radio stations in the 70s or something it wasn't like you could listen it wasn't a John Peel for example which is how I learned about a lot of music I listened to John Peel every night in the 1970s and early 80s but um Alfredo was another favorite from his days, you know, in Amnesia and later on.
Andy WilsonGUEST
24:55
But kind of like DJs at the moment, I love DJ Harvey for his, again, I like DJs who surprise me.
Andy WilsonGUEST
25:01
They don't just play in one kind of genre.
Alan WarmanHOST
26:45
of...
Alan WarmanHOST
26:45
He was getting more work in London, I think, than he was over here, Alfredo.
Alan WarmanHOST
26:49
We brought him over a couple of times to play in London and everyone appreciated it because they remembered them early days in Amnesia and that.
Alan WarmanHOST
26:59
Yeah.
