Amish Paradise

Yeah, he wants to do these parodies, but he's got to get the permission, and he makes food-centric or nerd culture anthems.

You might know Amish Paradise, which is a parody of Coolio's Gangsta Paradise.

How about Eat It and Fat? They're parodies of Michael Jackson's Beat It and Bad.

How about White and Nerdy, which is a parody of Chameleon Air's Ridin'? How about Smells Like Lava Tag? Smells Like Nirvana.

The Saga Begins.

That one's pretty good.

But Amish Paradise.

Didn't he go platinum or win a Grammy for that one or something? I don't know.

... comes out on a Segway for White and Nerdy.

He's got, did Amish Paradise-

That's right.

Uh, and like, he had songs like, uh, Eat It, Like a Surgeon, Amish Paradise, and he had spacey ones like, uh, uh, The Saga Begins and Yoda.

Now other musically named space rocks: Elvis, yeah, uh, Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin, and also Dolly Parton, plus The Beatles.

Now I think, uh, astronomers just get up there and they go, "Hmm, I don't like calling asteroids like their number, like 14331." They'd much rather have descriptive-

I heard an interview with him where he said, out of courtesy, because you don't have to at the parody, out of courtesy, he asked every artist that he spoofs.

And that the only person that ever got mad was Coolio with, Amish Paradise because I think his rapper, somebody, his agent or somebody gave permission.

I don't know.

Maybe he did.

When you were doing the Titan Nerdy Tour, did you find there was like one musical number that seemed to really be the most warmly received by the audience? Or did it kind of depend on the venue?

Universally, when Pickles Kentaro, the founder of our troupe, when she comes out to do Amish Paradise, that is when, you know, I feel like the audience just says like, okay, we love you.

Take, take all our money, you know, like that, that, that right there, uh, is our golden standup standout, um, uh, signature act of the troop.

I would say, um, personally, uh, I would say it's either I love Rocky road, which is a pretty easy crowd pleaser and everyone knows the words, uh, Or Bob, which is, again, kind of a deep cut, and it's Weird Al's takeoff, I guess, you know, a style parody of Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues.

It's kind of shocking.

But we call ourselves the core four, the four of us that... founded the troupe and went on all the tours and the documentary mostly revolves around us like when we're picking our songs they're just so um special to to us and our natures you know like no one else is going to pick bob or brady bunch you know or even even rocky road like that Those speak to my proclivities.

And I would never dream of wanting to do Amish Paradise.

It's not in my wheelhouse.
