Amiga Action

Gamer was Paragon Publishing's magazine just for the CD32 and that 90% was the first big verdict.

Then Amiga Action, the Europress games magazine that had been going since October 89, gave the A1200 version 92% in its December issue.

92% is a rave, and if you only bought Amiga Action that month, you'd have run to the shops.

Did the other big titles agree when their reviews landed in the new year?

Some did.

CU Amiga, the EMAP magazine that grew out of Commodore User, gave it 80% in January.

The one Emaps 16-bit title from October 88 gave it 59%.

Amiga Computing, Amiga Action's sister magazine, went for 50%.

Uh, Amiga Computing, the Europress Amiga monthly, went 97.

Amiga Action gave it 96.

Amiga Power, uh, Future's more hard-nosed, uh, Amiga title, still handed it 90 and, uh, called it the yardstick other platformers would be measured against.

CU Amiga, EMAP's Commodore and Amiga magazine, scored it 91.

The early ones were glowing.

Amiga Action, uh, which Europress had launched back in the autumn of '89, gave the Amiga version ninety-two percent.

Then CU Amiga, the eMap mag that started life as plain old Commodore User, gave it sixty.

And Amiga Format, uh, Future Publishing's monthly, uh, that made the cover disc a standard thing, went sixty as well.

It makes the C64 version look even worse because on paper, that machine should have walked it.

Scores then.

Uh, the magazines ran from Amiga Action's, uh, 92 and, uh, Crash's 90, uh, all the way down to Commodore Format's 19.

Uh, from me, the Amiga version gets a five.

The magazine reviews were pretty kind overall.

Amiga Action gave this one an 87%.

Hey, Amiga Addict had a look at this recently and gave this a 91%.

So they really put it over.

Because I'm looking here and I don't even see a 92.

I'm like, where did this cover? Amiga Action, it says here, gave it a 92.

But that score is not listed here on Lemon.

So that's one they missed, I guess.
