American Vampire

Here, his art actually looked a lot like Raphael Albuquerque.

There's kind of a thick line, kind of a looser, looser line work that he did that kind of felt really similar to stuff in like American Vampire or some of the other stuff that Albuquerque's done.

One thing

that I was thinking about.

now one of the things in regards to manga is the unique you know aesthetic of it just the visual presentation how you know manga is read the smaller size where you can basically it's like you know a mass paperback novel put in your pocket read it for the next day yeah if you have really big pockets um but also you know marvel and dc they've now realized let's do the same thing and they're kind of doing that slowly do you see with the compact line which has been doing gangbusters where they do self-contained stories, not volumes, as much as I wish they would.

I really wish American Vampire would get volume two, hint, hint, DC.

But I love the fact that when it comes to this, they are, sometimes they're listening.

And it's nice to see that, you know, manga, it has a strong hold on the American audiences for good reason.

Uh, and then we get to show everybody else, 'cause I remember when they asked me like, "What do you wanna get out of this?" I was like, "I wanna s- steal all this information from y'all and then take it back to the indie community and share it, so we can, you know, like everybody can raise." And so they laughed, but they were like, "I appreciate the honesty." And that's what I've been doing.

I mean, uh, they ca- w- what leg do they have to stand on laughing about that? Like, so many of their creators do do both things, and I mean, Scott Snyder, one of their primary creators of all time, and I mean, in the last 20 years had American Vampire and all this stuff that was in the indie world, right? Like, you, you can do both, and I think you should do both.

I think you do s- a couple for them, and really work the mainstream.

And some of that fandom, you come over and you s- you do your own unique story.
