American Saddlebred

This gait makes it an exceptionally comfortable riding horse.

The American Saddlebred, developed in Kentucky, is a five-gaited breed, performing the walk, trot, canter, slow gait, and rack.

The rack is a fast, flashy four-beat gait that is smooth for the rider and dramatic to watch.

The Friesian horse from the Netherlands is known for its black coat, long flowing mane and tail, and feathered legs.

So long, long, long story short, I grew up and still currently ride saddlebreds.

Saddlebreds? Yeah.

Oh, fun.

I don't think we've done one before.

And I went to a summer day camp that had riding, some hunt seat and some western, basically just more basics than anything.

And then a family friend of ours in her family were involved with Saddlebreds and Saddleseat.

And that's kind of how I got introduced to the American Saddlebred, which in Maine, there's actually... a pretty decent little circuit of horse shows or there used to be of one day horse shows and the first horse I ever showed was a little Arabian and then I leased a horse for a summer and then my parents bought me a horse that I actually had two horses that I showed when I was a junior exhibitor and mostly like one day horse shows we showed out of the horse trailer my mom made my suits And before my senior year of high school, Annalisa Hall moved to Maine.

And I had the opportunity to ride with her.
