American Registry for Internet Numbers

Autonomous system numbers are registered with some kind of a regional internet registry.

In North America, that would be ARIN, for example.

In Latin America, it's LACNIC.

And there's different REERs all over the world, regional internet centers, that officially track and delegate these data.

It's very, very important if you're information and communication technology.

There are other organizations as well, like ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, and the regional... or registries like ARIN and LACNIC.

We don't have time to get into those.

But the ITU, because if you look at the United Nations systems, the ITU is the premier organization that focuses on information and communications technology, telecommunications, etc., So the Plenty Potentiary Conference is a very, very important meeting for the ITU.
