American Institute of Floral Designers

is never what I end up becoming.

And this one is the one that I said that there's so many people that are owners and managers of a flower shop that want to know what's going on outside the industry with their state association, with AIFD, with Society of American Florists, any of those.

And you're like, ooh, I'm going to go and I'm going to see what it's all about.

But unless you are willing to volunteer and step up and be seen, that they can see your potential, you're just going to continue to be a participant, which is not bad.

[laughs] So he looks like that, right? Mm-hmm.

And so he's sitting there and he's making this, and he, and I sa- And somebody came up to him one time and said, w- there's the American Institute of Floral Designers that, uh, many florists in America are a part of, and they said to Gregor, "You should become a member of American, the American Institute of Floral Designers." And he said, "No." [laughs] And they said, "Why?" And he said, "I'm not from America." [laughs] And I was like, "Exactly." Yeah.

"You are this German guy," you know? And he's just so funny, and he's always like, "Ah, my German friend," and he'll speak German to me.

And, and, and I, I took four years of German in high school, so I can, I can understand German and I can speak a little bit.

Great tip.

But since then, I have found AIFD.

I'm very involved with that organization.

I've done some stage presentations.

So yeah, if I see that sense of curiosity that I know I can like, I can push a little

I want to back up just a minute because one thing you said that maybe naturally you just say that, but it's that I step up to the bench when it's busy.

Because I remember thinking when I was a young designer just into AIFD and I'm like, I don't want to do production work.

You know how people get those attitudes.
