American Beverage Association

A 2014 study that looked into the FDA reports revealed that there had been 34 reported casualties in the past four years that had passed away after consuming an energy drink.

This study pulled some scrutiny from the American Beverage Association, claiming that energy drinks and their ingredients are safe for consumption when in moderation, as they meet all standards by federal regulators, and that they comply with all FDA guidelines.

And while consumers can be skeptical because the ABA's main role is to represent beverage producers, distributors, and franchise companies, they do have a point in moderation being a key in safe consumption.

So what happens if you like to drink energy drinks but you can't figure out what moderation is for you, and how much is too much? With a little bit of math.

Okay? So that is also, I mean, absolutely bizarro crazy world, but it's true, and it really happened, and that's the type of corruption that we uncover in Breaking Big Food, in the documentary.
