So this was actually the first time I met him at the Missouri Association of School Librarians Conference.

And then I met him again at the AASL.

And he's like enough with this stalker.

Enough with this stalker already.

I got to tell

you, I'm pretty excited about 2027 because AASL is going to be in Portland.

Am I right? That is correct.

I'm so

I'm excited to go in my own hometown because I've been gone for 26 years.

And so I will be there.

I am still active in AASL and ALA.

So which, by the way, for those of you that have had to leave librarianship, Once a librarian, always a librarian.

And then I read a lot myself.

Also, AASL had something that they started about two years ago, and I hope they continue.

It was Connect and Collect.

It was a once a month genre topic that librarians would get on and just share books that are popular in their libraries at that time.

And the value that we can bring to a space if we have that supportive administration.

And I know this is way off topic, friends, but I also know because one of my friends whose space I observed was actually came to AASL in Tampa with her principal because she was receiving her principal was receiving a recognition.

for supporting her award-winning program.

This sort of collaboration, this sort of partnership between administrator and school librarian is one that so often is more antagonistic than anything because we're always asking for money.
