So it kind of sounded like Saleh was saying they're just not picking up some of what they're being asked to do right now.

My question is, uh, why is that the case four weeks into an NFL season on defense with a bunch of veteran dudes?

... that's the simplest, that's as simple as it gets.

But then to Robbie's point, Amani Hooker, uh, knows what he's doing.

They signed two veteran cornerbacks out there in Flott and Taylor, who, you know, have they never played zone before? I, I mean, I would think, you know, if you're a veteran quarterback, cornerback who's, who's going into his second contract, his fifth year, you would have the basics of, of zone down marked.

Um, but it also seems like they're gonna have to show a little patience with a veteran secondary as well.

Outside of Marcus Harris, I think the other guys, whether it's Fly or Taylor, um, or even, uh, uh, Amani Hooker, they're not playing to the level I think that even when the defensive line gets everything together and they get that rotation together, I'm not sure that back end is going to be able to hold up as it is.

Is this the d- the most disappointing part of the team right now outside of the quarterback, Tami- Tuson?

I'm trying to think of a reason why I could say no. I-

Because they paid, uh, a collective, like, 40 million-ish dollars a year to two starting outside corners in free agency.

They, uh, in terms of drafts capital, have invested in a starting safety in Kenneth Winston Jr., and a starting nickel corner in Marcus Harris.

And they've given Amani Hooker not one, but two extensions in his time here with Tennessee.

So they have invested in that s- that starting, uh, group of five, that they're [laughs] they are not getting a return on investment in this first month.

You can get away with having three or four pedestrian pieces on defense, but you need seven.

Like Amani Hooker's okay.
