Then went on a mission

trip to Russia the next year during the summer.

did some amazing mission work, did a summer camp.

That was incredible.

That was non-denominational.

And from there, it was always just a stretch and just, do I believe? Do I not? Am I agnostic? Am I a believer? I don't know who I am.

That went on for about 30 years, you know, just never quite connecting.

Really?

And I'd like to hear more about that.

Yeah, I'm definitely an untraditional orthodontist.

And I really do think a lot of this travel and just a lot of the cultural experience I've had has really shaped the version of orthodontics that I want to practice.

So yeah, I went to school just like everyone else.

But I think I grew up in a family that really liked travel and really liked culture.

And Just from my experience, and we kind of talked about this a little bit in our pre-session, and for those of you guys who don't listen to podcasts or have never made a podcast or been a guest on a podcast, usually you do do a pre-session where you get a chance to chit-chat and just kind of feel the vibe.

Sometimes we just wing it and go straight in, but Phil and I did chit-chat a little bit a few weeks ago.

I might as well finish them all, you know?
