How did you start out?

A mixed story of, of successes.

So university very early, also very driven on business.

I opened the restaurant about age 19.

We had a fantastic restaurant called Stocks between Cambridge and Newcastle.

I went through 30 banks.

I had to go eventually to the bank manager in Harrogate to NatWest and banged, and I said, "Look, I haven't got a track record.

Yeah

Because someone told you, or you just-

Just knew.

We noticed that Qatar were already pretty much at their limit to what they could invest in the bank without a full takeover, so we thought we might be the only game in town.

But we hadn't raised the money, so we had...

We'd spoken to His Highness, obviously Sheikh Mansour, and they were brilliant, and IPIC were really backing, but we were also spoking- speaking to the Kuwait f- f- Saudi, uh, China, CIC, and we were raising this three and a half billion in, in about three weeks.

Did you think about it?
