Amalickiah

He was a man like unto Satan of old, is basically what it says.

And that's Amalickiah.

Yeah.

And Amalakaya came to Lahontai's camp and he's like, hey, I want to talk to you.

His greatest challenges, however, were still ahead.

A former Nephite named Amalickiah had gained control of the Lamanite kingdom through deception and murder.

Determined to conquer the Nephites, he led a powerful invading army into their lands, captured fortified cities, and threatened to push north into territories essential to the nation's survival.

Teancum and the soldiers under his command stood in the path of that advance.

The Lamanites were exhausted by the heat and exertion of battle, and that night, Teancum undertook one of the most extraordinary actions recorded in the Book of Mormon.

Alma 51:33 says Teancum took his servant and entered the enemy camp while the soldiers slept.

He reached Amalickiah’s tent and, according to verse thirty-four, put a javelin to his heart.

The king died without awakening his servants, and Teancum withdrew safely to his own camp.
