Amadeus Lombardi

I'm already two points.

Lombardi got a two point night, you know, three, three points total from the fourth line between glasses, goal Lombardi, multi, multi assist game.

The third line got on the board to open the scoring.

Evan Rodriguez late in the first period.

He's moving it.

Jack Hughes like you know he has this the skating ability he skates so well on his edges he can transition the puck are there some deficiencies defensively yes he's got to work on those things are there some puck making decisions he has to work on of course but You don't get better by sitting in the press box and doing those things.

And I think with a player like Amadeus Lombardi, the more he plays, the better he's just getting.

And so I think it's really hard to say that you're going to sit him.

I'd love to join the show," and, uh, we eased him in, and he is now our To- well, he's always been our Toledo guy, but he's been the guy behind the scenes of, uh, all of the Toledo content a- and editing and, and talking on those shows.

So, um, so it's been very, very fast of how f- how we started, uh, [laughs] just a cooler in an apartment and a, a lawn chair is what Brandon and I sat in, and we shared one microphone, and we could read, uh, team notes and recaps of, uh, the Griffins, Flint Firebirds, and the Toledo Walleye because, uh, we were following Flint because Amadeus Lombardi was there.

So I think that's, the depth was the big thing.

At one point we were down, uh, Nate Danielson had gone.

He had, he was still injured, and then Amadeus Lombardi was still injured.

And, uh, you know, there's just no center depth.

Um, At times, they don't seem really confident in their offensive ability, but you get a game like last night, and that kind of gets the gears turning again for pretty much everybody.

Waiting on Amadeus Lombardi's first NHL goal.

But, yeah, let's bounce over to the island.

Luke Hughes gets his third goal of the season and his second of the game, coming from Brett Pesce, another assist for him, and Lombardi.

Look at Amadeus there, starting to put some points up on the board.

[smacks lips] And Luke Hughes getting the puck at the point, doing the old spin-a-rooney, kind of then just start doing his magic, skating around, you know, in the zone, stickhandling, and all of a sudden he sees that there's a lane straight to the net, you know? From, from the faceoff circle.

So he just drives right there and he rips a shot, far side, you know, that away side that is high, uh, past Garand, and it clinks off the post and into the back of the net.

Just like that, it's 5-0 Devils into the third.

Amadeus Lombardi feeds Stefan Nason for his first of the season.

It's 6-0 at that point.

The Nikodaz shutout is broken about a minute after that with the Rangers on the power play.

But, um- You know, having Mercer on the line, I understand absolutely putting him there, like the familiarity, you have to, you know.

But like, that's Lombardi's spot, and Lombardi is much better than Mercer in that spot, and I think that he will be the fuse that gets that line going.

You think they're gonna move Lombardi up to that spot eventually?

I meant Evangelista.

Like, he knows exactly where he needs to be.

And so, like, you know, I wrote an article before we got on the show tonight about Amadeus Lombardi.

And I don't think I want to break up that line yet.

It's a catch-22, right? If you're the Devils, do you break up the fourth line, which has been playing so well and Bocas has looked really good, Or do you break up a line that's unlocked your $4.5 million free agent who has said he feels more comfortable there? You got a goal out of Rodriguez, who's another new addition.

We should be good.
