so took off with farmers and just loved it man i i still this day i mean the farmers uh culture that they build um is very very special uh then you know i had a phenomenal manager that because of him was tied to a lot of really good managers and Man, they pushed us to be better, and they truly just cared about their people.

So I was rocking along, and being in Altus, Oklahoma, a lot of the business we were riding was ag-related.

Well, a farmer's interest doesn't necessarily like ag-related business, which is interesting with the name, right? People a lot of times are like, what? Y'all don't like ag? The name's Farmers, but they didn't.

So ended up making a change.

I have this funny story where when we were living in a new military town, it was Altus, Oklahoma, and I was freshly pregnant with our second baby who we miscarried.

And on my first, um, On my first OB appointment, I had to fill out like all the paperwork about insurance and pregnancy history and all the things.

Well, ask for an emergency contact.

This happened like maybe three, four months ago.

I was on Highway 62 leaving from Altus heading towards Lawton.

And there's like a Air Force base in Altus and an Army base in Lawton.

So I'm on 62 heading east and it's like 3:00, 4:00 in the morning.

And like directly like above the road, like way out in the distance, like not above me above me, but like out there, there's like these lights coming down and they're making like a lowercase J shape.

I'm just watching them while I'm driving.

And there's not like any big cities around.

So I left Altus heading towards Lawton and I started seeing them around Snyder.

It's totally true about it being its own little country.

And I was in Spokane, Washington and Altus, Oklahoma, and also Ramstein, Germany.

And so we saw, especially in Ramstein, we saw people coming back from different conflicts.

The major military medical facility is just down the road in Landstuhl.

A tough week on the softball field for the Elkettes.

They need to get that turned around.

I think this whole non-district thing is just a process of figuring out what needs to be worked on, what's working, and then how can we be the best version of a Big Elk football team by the time the first district game rolls in.

But, man, you want to win them, I get it.

And you especially want to beat a team that's kind of like a mini-robbery in Altus, right, a team we're very familiar with.

We've got to come up with a name for it, like the Six Series or something like that.

Local recipients include Burns Flat Dill City, Carnegie, Mountain View, Godebo, Weatherford, Navajo, and Altus.

They are among 16 Oklahoma FFA chapters selected for the program.
