It was more to give me a bit of financial independence, I suppose, because I'd stepped out and didn't work and just wanted some pocket money really so that I could buy a Not that I made her feel guilty about anything, but, you know, just have that sense of this money is mine.

Yeah.

So in that sense, it was not a carefully mapped out journey in any way.

Absolutely.

Yeah, and it has evolved as your children have grown up.

So talk to me about how it moved from pocket money, an hour a week, with somebody doing A-level English, whatever it might be, to the next stage.

Now, just one quick note on that.

A lot of that whole idea about giving pocket money as pay is something I've talked about before 'cause financial education is a big thing.

And, and obviously, as adults, we have to go out to work mainly in order to get money, and I think the idea of pocket money of pay, it enables children to start to understand that sense and gives them a sense of the value of money.

Now, uh, this, th- this is also fascinating because I imagine this is very common.
