First of all, there's worry and rumination or general kind of negatively toned thought.

and not coping or it's nighttime worries about not falling asleep and what tomorrow's gonna look like.

The problem with this kind of negative thinking is that it causes arousal and the kind of fight flight response and that's the opposite of what we need in order to fall asleep.
