Allensworth

[on-hold music] Welcome to Water Talk.

In today's episode, we're talking about water and land stewardship in California's Central Valley with Janaki Anagha, founder of the Marigold Fund for Unincorporated California, and Desiree Bagalayos, a Central Valley water rights advocate and member of the fund's Axle Committee, and co-associate executive director of the Allensworth Progressive Association.

The Marigold Fund is a participatory grant-making fund that supports community-led stewardship of land, water, and local economies in unincorporated California, prioritizing farm workers, small farms, and tribal communities.

Janaki and Desiree, welcome to Water Talk.

Yeah.

Thank you for that conversation, discussion.

And, Anne and Desiree, you're working, uh, on a plan that combines regenerative agriculture and agrivoltaics to bring energy independence and food sovereignty to the community of Allensworth then.

So for many of, uh, our national audience, would you mind providing a, a picture of, uh, what is Allensworth, a little bit of the background?
