Allendale

All right.

It's called The Helpful Haunt of Allendale.

And Allendale is a small city outside of Grand Rapids.

So let's see what we're doing here.

Okay, so the story starts that Jackie North, the years between 1969 and 1974, were the best and worst times of her life.

On the one hand, she was living in a beautiful old farmhouse just east of Allendale, and she was happily awaiting the birth of her first child.

On the other hand, it was becoming ever more apparent that her shaky marriage to Dave Stanley was quickly falling apart.

Small differences that used to irritate them only mildly when they first got married were beginning to cause major arguments, and there was rarely a moment's peace in the old home.

Grand Valley was knocking on the top ten door yesterday.

before losing to Michigan Tech, or they were in the top ten, and you guys won in Allendale, and Michigan Tech, man, they're a well-coached team, kind of playing with house money, not a lot of pressure on that program to win up there in the UP, and how do you match up against Michigan Tech?

Well, Coach Matlock does a great job with them up there, and they...

You know, they do a lot of good things formationally on offense.

Coopersville, multiple weapons in the backfield.

Corbin Montman had 236 yards and two touchdowns last week against Allendale.

And, of course, we know Kenwood Hills has the Michigan commit and London Hampton, who can really just score any time he touches the ball.

Let's go down a couple of divisions, if you don't mind.

A new head coach.

I know you guys want to erase the sting of what happened in Allendale against the Cardinals last year with that one-point loss.

But like I said, this is a very different team now with a brand new coaching staff in place.

So give me your breakdown of this Cardinals group this time around.

He is head football coach Scott Wooster.

Scott, as always, we appreciate it.

And here's hoping we come home to Allendale on Saturday with a Battle of the Valleys victory.

Absolutely.

Great to see a huge crowd at Ray Smith Stadium.

Huge crowd in Allendale.

Ferris had a monster crowd last weekend.

They get Michigan Tech in another big boy matchup on Saturday at Top Taggart Field at 1 p.m. in Big Rapids.

I'm gonna hit both Grand Valley and Ferris tailgates, 'cause I know a lot of people from both schools.

I will be tomorrow in Allendale.

Uh, Ben, uh, you need to watch him, number 56, one of the top D2 offensive linemen in America.

And his son, Sam Pestula, about 6'7", 280, out of Gibraltar Carlson, downriver, southeast side of the state.

Well, good luck to Sam Pestula out of Gibraltar Carlson.

I know his big brother Ben getting ready for Grand Valley tomorrow.

Pestula family will be making the trip up to Allendale.

And Sam, they're looking for, what, win eight tonight, and also homecoming king.
