All the Small Things

Where do I start?

Blink-182 star Tom DeLonge gets emotional as Padre fans sing All The Small Things.

Pretty cool on, when sports collides with music and-

Who?

I don't know who he is.

Well, yeah, Tom DeLonge is known as a rock star and singer for the late '90s, early 2000s band Blink-182, but he's also a huge Padre fan, and Tuesday night those things came together as Padres and Brewers headed into the bottom of the eighth inning of a game three.

Camera showed DeLonge while the Padres faithful sang All The Small Things-

That's the-

Okay, so Blink-182's Tom DeLonge was at the Padres game.

And they start playing Blink-182's song, All the Small Things.

Yeah.

And 43,000 people in the stadium start belting it out.

This is one for Captain.

Well, probably All the Small Things, but then...

No, because What's My Age Again came before All the Small Things.

Call yourself a fan.

Oh, I hope Sean Walsh is listening.

He'll be loving this.

I didn't know if it got popularised here.

What was the biggest hit? Was it What's My Age Again or All The Small Things?

There you go.

Uh, did you see, uh, Tom DeLonge from San Diego's own Blink-182? They were playing All the Small Things, which they play at every game.

Okay.

And Tom DeLonge has been at many games where they've played it, but Tom DeLonge is sitting there, and they're playing it, and he's getting emotional.

Now, do they play-

He's getting emotional.

Do they play it after, uh, like a, uh, sac bunt to advance a runner? You know, 'cause you're playing a little small ball, and then you go out there, and you play All the Small Things.

Now, that would be timely and awesome.

[laughs]

... singing All the Small Things.

Uh, they said he was tearing up.

I said, I was watching.

And he picked it clean, and was able to step right on the bag and complete the double play.

I mean, it's just absolutely thrilling.

And of course, you heard, uh, All the Small Things, which is now begin- just if you're like a kid, you know, sometime in the end, somewhere in like the 10 to 16 range or something down there, these are gonna be some of the best memories of your life down there.

Yeah.

Bac-, I don't e- You may not even have been on the show at this point.

Um, but I tried to get All the Small Things to be the song at the stadium.

And, um, you know the song, right, JP?

Which song?

All the Small Things.

I don't know if I do.

Blink-182.

Everybody knows Mr. Brightside.

[laughs]

... singing All the Small Things.

Uh, they said he was tearing up.

I said, I was watching.

But nowadays shortstops, you know, even with the shift, they, they play basically up the middle, and that's where Bogaerts was And he picked it clean, and was able to step right on the bag and complete the double play.

I mean, it's just absolutely thrilling.

And of course, you heard, uh, All the Small Things, which is now begin- just if you're like a kid, you know, sometime in the, in somewhere in like the 10 to 16 range or something down there, these are gonna be some of the best memories of your life down there.

Yeah.

Yes.

And that's why All the Small Things works because in a stadium of 100,000, 80 know it.

They should.

My kids know it and it came out 25 years ago.
