All the Sinners Bleed

My lovely, lovely, absolute champion mother did.

And she went and bought a copy of All the Sinners Bleed and got it signed for me by him.

But she was telling us that his story sounded very similar to mine in terms of really doing it for a long time and not getting any sort of headway and persisting in them.

Yeah, but his novels, man, he is so good, man.

S.A. Cosby is a New York Times best-selling writer from southeastern Virginia.

He is the author of All the Sinners Bleed, which was on more than 40 best-of-the-year lists, including Barack Obama's, as well as Edgar Award finalists Razorblade Tears and Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner Blacktop Wasteland, my personal favorite.

He has also won the Anthony Award, ITW Thriller Award, Berry Award, Macavity Award, BC ALA Award, and Audi Award, and has been long listed for the ALA Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence.

Okay, so I feel like thrillers are such a spectrum.

And until I read All the Sinners Bleed, I didn't realize that thrillers could be like so viscerally violent.

Yeah, they are.

I wanted to ask you about All the Sinners Bleed.

And this is also a really gritty, dark one.

So So I just thought this was so skillfully done, so amazingly written.

I don't know that I want to read it again because it's difficult, but still really, really great.

And that is All the Sinners Bleed by S.A. Cosby.

I've read other books by him and not this one, and partially because it is just such tough subject matter that I never feel like I'm in the right frame of mind to pick that up.
