All Hallows, Bow

He turned up to the Sunday service on like a bike that he just sort of discarded and ran through the door.

asked if there was any addicts he could talk to and someone came like bustling over to me and I saw this big guy and I was like okay I'm just gonna grab a couple of the blokes in recovery as well and there were like three of us maybe who chatted and prayed for him and he came to one session of the recovery program that we ran and then I never saw him again and um I thought like oh I wonder what happened to him and and that happens oh my goodness does that happen And then it was a year later that I got an email from him and he said that in that session, I think I, but maybe someone else had mentioned that there was a church in East London, which is All Hallows Bow, where they have a service specifically for people in recovery on a Tuesday night.

And that had caught his attention because that was closer to his house and he had started going there and he was now clean and sober and a big part of that community and absolutely loved it.

And perhaps most importantly, a Star Wars fan.

Chris and his wife, Becky, lead All Hallows Bow, which is a highly missional church in East London.

But his time there is due to come to an end in a matter, I think, of, of days, if not weeks, and that's because Chris has just been appointed as Director of Mission for Church of England, Birmingham.

We'll talk about that today.

So we ended up moving to East London to basically take on a church of seven.
