Uh, where we're discussing a recent op-ed by Alison Pill about the perils faced by child actors.

Uh, it was an essay she wrote in the wake of Hayden Panettiere's death at the age of 36 last month.

Uh, Panettiere was a child actor who got her start in the world of daytime soaps before breaking through to the mainstream with the show Heroes.

Um, uh, the, the, the, the real issue here is that kids can't consent to what they're being asked to do.

I mean, they can in the sense that they can say yes, and they can-- And some, many of them want to act.

Alison Pill writes about how she wants to act.

Um, but they can't really legally consent in the way an adult can.
