A recent press conference with other elected officials said, the Miami-Dade supervisor of elections, Alina Garcia, urged people to vote in favor of Amendment 3.

I'm going to tell you right now, I'm an Amendment 3 advocate.

I think we need to send a message to these counties and cities that you need to stop.

She's Miami-Dade's first elected supervisor.

It used to be appointed job until the legislature said this job and the sheriff's job, which was also appointed in Miami-Dade, need to be elected to office.

And in complying with that, this lady, Alina Garcia, was the first elected supervisor of elections in Miami-Dade County since they changed the law.
