She wrote a book called Viral, Search for the Origin of COVID-19, which she wrote with Matt Ridley, who interestingly is a climate change denier.

Matt hates this very accurate, abusive term, so he lashed out in response with the obligatory mot to his bailey, which we will elucidate sequentially as we go.

I was wrong, and it puzzled me.

The lesson, therefore, of the COVID pandemic is that the risk of a natural outbreak going global is probably much smaller than the risk of a lab leak outbreak going global.

Another lab leak proponent warned Alina Chan, the co-author of Matt's lab leak book, to not work with Matt because of his poor track record.

So should we really believe Matt about the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic? He has a dogshit track record on topics like this, and we haven't even gotten to his claims on the origin of the AIDS pandemic.

Because indeed, what you have seen them do, what you saw them do after this, is indeed plot schemes and go after people.

They, first it started with going after Alina Chan, who they took umbrage with.

Dissecting this grift will involve some familiar faces.

Remember my video on Matt Ridley, the fraud who lies about climate change for money? He's the one who wrote Viral: The Search for the Origin of COVID-19 with Alina Chan.

We mentioned it briefly in that video and alluded to statements he's made on Twitter, like this one where he claims to have identified patient zero as a researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and linked him to a super-secret plan for manufacturing a virus.

His reasoning appears ultra sophisticated, referencing primary scientific literature and everything, while also clamoring for the retraction of a paper that substantiates a natural origin for the virus.

If you thought the bioweapon story was wild, buckle up because next came the Mojiang miner myth.

This is a tale so convoluted it makes QAnon look like a book club.

And at the center of it all, our favorite authors, Matt Ridley and Alina Chan, and a group of anonymous Twitter sleuths who call themselves DRASTIC.

That's short for Decentralized Radical Autonomous Search Team Investigating COVID-19.

I first got involved with this discussion to actually tweet to people, since there was so much interest in the topic, basically what was and what wasn't.

Alina Chan is a former postdoctoral fellow and molecular biologist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.

Her contributions early on in the pandemic were to start essentially doing detective work out of her home on what the origins could be.

And she's made it into sort of a second little career for herself.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Hence his devotion to spreading propaganda, minimizing the dangers of anthropogenic climate change, and denigrating alternative energy sources.

He also made a cameo in my video debunking COVID lab leak propaganda, given his popular book with Alina Chan that brainwashed lots of people.

So he's definitely made the rounds in the science denial zeitgeist.

That video was very thorough and examined a mountain of data in order to combat Ridley's brand of climate change denial, which is called lukewarmism.
