Aligoté

Let's give Syrah its due finally once and for all.

And Aligote and some other things I could mention.

I had one recently.

But we have to realize, to put it into context, is when we were looking, it was 1972.

The American wine industry was dominated by bulk wine made with basically Thompson, Seedless, Carignan, and Aligoté.

Because

if they had ever had Cabernet, Pinot Noir, any of that, it had all been pulled out during Prohibition.

And Sentio.

Sentio, I, I've, I've really been enjoying Sentio recently, um, particularly the Aligoté.

Uh, so hang on.

So, uh, can you spell that one for me?

I'm in the Chablis camp I think.

The other one, if we want to stay in Burgundy and if we want to continue high acid white, let's look at the other white grape there, Aligoté.

Becoming, certainly it's become more famous and more coveted these days.

Again, as Burgundy prices have skyrocketed, I think psalms and wine buyers turned around and said, look, here's this lesser known grape that the region also does.

Yes.

And except for Aligoté.

Correct.

And except for the other things.

There's a village called Bouzeron famous for Aligoté.

This is the classic grape used for liqueur.

So white wine and creme de cassis.
