I mean, look, I, I think hard work is really valuable, and I, I would never say that it's not, and I think there's something to be said for doing your time and putting in the hard yards.

That being said, there's a time for boundaries, and I learnt the hard way through burnout and, I don't think I've ever publicly said this, but a medical situation that resulted in an actual nervous breakdown from a lack of boundaries.

And I think a lot of high A women around our age probably went through similar things, like if you're a high achiever at school and you're a bit of a people pleaser, and you wanted to do the best in the workplace, and all of that stuff, and it can take you to a really dangerous place.

So the caveat being that you have to know your boundaries, and you have to be able to implement them.

But I think hard work is really important, but I think visibility's really important.

And so I never really understood how to talk about my achievements, and I think as a result, I was really taken advantage of.

How did you even first start in the admin profession?

accidentally.

At university, I was becoming a school teacher.

I realized before I even finished university that I didn't actually want to be a school teacher, but I had no idea what I wanted to do.

So I finished those degrees.

I got a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts and then had a kind of quarter life crisis when I graduated going, what am I going to do with my life? I've just got two degrees that I don't want to use and I hate being a teacher and all this kind of stuff and mad respect to teachers, by the way.
