It's quite frustrating.

The, like, the one thing, kind of the one educated guess that's out there is in a Cut article from 2018 where Alice Robb, who's a dream researcher, said, "Well, you know, there's this theory called threat simulation hypothesis.

It's the idea that maybe our dreams are simulations of threats, and our brains create these so that we can kind of experience them and be more prepared if they ever really happen." And the idea then was that we just haven't evolved long enough for our, like, non-conscious brain to have evolved to see technology as a threat, so we dream more about attacks or bodily illnesses or weird behaviors-

I don't think that Alice Robb herself was trying to say this is the reason.

It was just like a, "Here's one thing" that she could think of.
