Uh, I had him at tight end 17 as well.

I moved him down to tight end 19, and I can be tempted to move him lower.

Uh, if I'm gonna have a, a silver lining at all from this game, it's that some of the other Rams tight ends got injured, but I kinda hate that it would take them getting injured for Terrence Ferguson to matter.

And then, uh, uh, kinda like what you said is if he is the wide receiver three, let's call it that on the Rams, how much does that matter for fantasy? And I had it in my head after all the beat reports and the prospect profile and everything that could work in this offense.

Well, wide receiver three on the Rams could be a, a, a solid maybe tight end 13 or 14, and it could matter in a streaming sense.

It, it right now does not look like it, it matters whatsoever.

What, what does Alfredo Brown think about Gino Smith?

Yeah, last year's film was not good, man.

Last year's film was not good at all.

And I think it is important to have the context that there weren't a lot of great targets to throw to once Brock Bowers was gone.

The offensive line was really bad.

The run game was incredibly inefficient.

And this was an offense that just looked bland, like so much so they changed play callers.

What are your thoughts here on the wide receiver depth and how their skill set will then marry and pair with Daniel Jones's skill set?

But the, I'm concerned about the passing game, and yeah, Jordan Tyson's not out for the season, but go ahead, Alfredo.

Um, I'm not as concerned with Olave.

I mean, I would have been if Jordan Tyson was going to be healthy, but this whole hamstring thing is something that has followed him all throughout college, and I'm not one of those guys that likes to say a player is injury prone.

But, uh, o- one of my buddies who's a doctor who helped me with all the stuff I do at Pretend GM has been saying that he's been really concerned about the hamstring stuff, because the soft tissue injuries kinda just keep replicating themselves over and over and over, and it becomes a compensation issue.

Olave, I'm not as worried because I do think Tyler Shuck is actually a good quarterback.

I, I charted him for Reception Perception, and everything that he was doing was, he was making big boy throws.

He was not doing your typical rookie stuff.

You have Jackson, Cook, Nico, Trey McBride, and now Luther Burden.

Mm-hmm

... and I think that's also, like that happens with us as the, the fantasy analysts in the Twitter echo chamber where we're just like, "Oh, everyone likes Jaylen Waddle.

Interesting." And like you start to see like Sean Payton's talking about Jaylen Waddle getting a bunch of targets.

And y- yeah, like it, he could potentially still get plenty of targets.

This was something interesting that I found on Waddle.

Uh, he's finished outside the top 24 fantasy wide receivers in 60% of his career games, and it... 'Cause there's always been that feeling, like that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I'm a South Florida guy, Miami Dolphins fan my whole life, and I love Jaylen Waddle the player, the talent.

I really like this build, Alfredo.

What did you-- what, what impressions did you get watching Jaxson Dart?

That's exactly it.

Jaxson Dart was gonna be the guy that when you asked me the question earlier, "Who are you most disappointed in?" it was Jaxson Dart.

And, uh, a lot of that stems from the fact that the Giants were essentially running a college offense.

Like, they were not running a real NFL offense that forced Dart to make reads, to sit in the pocket a- and go left to right across the field.

A lot of it was cutting the field in half, getting him out of the pocket, and him making singular reads where he was just like, "Okay, I'm gonna chuck this deep," or, "I'm gonna hit flats and screens," and that was kind of it.

His 15.6% deep ball rate was highest amongst all of the rookie quarterbacks last year, but then his 32.7% success rate on those deep throws was lowest among all the rookie quarterbacks last year, and there were some bad rookie quarterbacks last year.

Right.

Is there something to the footwork there?

Yeah, I mean, it's not just the footwork.

It's also just the processing, right? Oftentimes, he's not going to be having to look left first in terms of his reads.

That's a great point.

There's not enough time.

So like for a guy like Jackson Dart, who the Giants offensive line was really good, he did not have to play out of structure all that often.

Protein for all.

They're looking at me.

me.[laughs] But, uh, the thing is with, with these injuries is, like, I, I think we oftentimes, yes, the, we have these medical marvels where, uh, injuries can heal faster and players can return quicker.

But it typically takes a year.

And even seeing guys who, yeah, they're a bit older, in Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rogers, they just never return the same, right? And I'm not saying he drops to that level of just, like, maybe he shouldn't be a starting quarterback.

But we're probably not gonna see as much rushing as we used to in the past.

And we sort of saw a drop-off of that last year, where a lot of his rushing production for fantasy came off of goal line touchdowns and just RPO keepers, where he's holding onto that.

But he, he really had a lot of his, a lot of his best games, okay, he had six games as a QB 1.

Who do you prefer?

And then the question is, is there anything to salvage from this Giants offense, or is this a complete fade?

I don't love the Giants offense, and I spent the last week charting Jaxson Dart for Reception Perception, 'cause that's what I'm doing now is charting and writing up the profiles for the quarterbacks with Matt Harmon and James Co and, and company over there.

And boy, are the Giants just gross to watch hours and hours of football of.

One, I was shocked to see that Quinshon Judkins was still here, coming off the board after Montgomery, after Bucky, after TreVeyon Henderson, after DeAndre Swift, after Cam Scatty-Boo, after Chuba Hubbard.

Just surprising to me that he's coming after all those guys.

Like, maybe one or two of them, but, like, to, to be going off the board in the eighth round, I was happy to see him there.

And then Cam Ward was that, that QB too that I was hoping for in this kind of punting quarterback scenario.

Cam Ward was a guy that ran a lot in college when he was at Washington State.

But right now, how are you kind of ranking those three against each other?

That's sort of what Jordan Tyson does.

He's a freestyle route runner that probably does way too much, and that's typically seen on his release, where he doesn't have a great release off the line of scrimmage, 'cause he'll do 17 different things and really not get anywhere.

But then it helps him later on down the field in the intermediate area, where he can get open, and he can pace his routes really well.

Or even though he's not the fastest, he can get open deep.

A, a lot of times balls are thrown off target, and I'm seeing him stretch for them and stuff like that, and yeah, the, the, all the, the, the stuff going out that, you know, the, the toughness questions.

I don't know if there's a question about his toughness.

Uh, are they similar players to you? W- how do you, how do you evaluate them?

Yeah.

I, I know he had touchdowns this year, but like h- being able to scramble a little bit in college is very different from what he's gonna have to do in the NFL.

I think he's got that size that if they get into a goal line scenario and he runs a QB sneak, sure, absolutely.

The, the struggle here is that like he just-Especially you go back to the Miami game he really struggled to throw off platform, and that's one of those things that I really like to grade is that, like can...

And maybe this is me being a jaded Miami Dolphins fan.

Can a quarterback do this a- and keep all their top traits they have, their accuracy or their arm strength or their poise, whatever it is when things go bad? Because it's going to happen, especially for a rookie.

We saw it with Cam Ward.

Right.

What do you think?

No, I mean, I'll still continue to draft Trevion Henderson ahead of Ramondre Stevenson and probably by like a couple rounds, if I'm being honest.

I don't think that we can look at playoff football and always assume like that's how things are going to pan out the next season.

We also have to like take into consideration the climate of this game.

Like this was, this was a very weird game.

And we also always find out something like two, three weeks later, like, you know, Trevion Henderson was playing through a broken ankle for the last month.

He's just been taping it really well.
