Alfred Collins

He's gonna be out a long time, but they're hoping to get him back at some point late in the season.

And then there's Alfred Collins, uh, the, the second year defensive tackle, uh, second round pick, second round pick last year.

He's out for the season with a torn patellar tendon.

So, uh, 49ers are having to deal with some injuries.

Um, but obviously I'm not a doctor, but that's what it appeared to be when it was the replay.

Yeah, so those are the injuries, uh, that come out of this game.

Uh, the only negative things that happened for the 49ers on this trip were, were the, you know, the, the injury to, to Alfred Collins and, uh, the two injuries in this game, week one.

And what an impressive week one it was for the 49ers, and they are tied atop the NFC [laughs] West because, uh, the defending Super Bowl champion, Seattle Seahawks, they opened the regular season on Wednesday with a victory over the New England Patriots.

Again, we're still waiting to find out more about Stribling, but the good news was that they felt like his Achilles was okay.

um number two run defense still wasn't great no it was not just got done talking about that we made some great stops and tackles for loss though yeah it was you know that's that's true and that's if you've got players that are not good at being stout against the run but can still penetrate and are hard to contain you're still going to get some of those plays man you're still going to make some tackles for loss it's just not going to be consistent you know it's it's just not and and we haven't even mentioned it um Came out, what was it, yesterday? That Alfred Collins suffered a torn patellar tendon.

The front of your knee.

Because this was a big year for Alfred Collins to like – kind of decide the player he was going to be, and now it's just completely wiped out.

So that's tough.

But, yeah, I don't think he's too focused on football right now, Joe.

Well, he just lost his second round pick in Alfred Collins from last year to injury.

But I think he was in Australia, so we can't blame him.

Well, the substation could have wear and tear effects on the

But Nick Bosa... was so integral into this Niners' run defense, which, at times, was not good.

When you lose Alfred Collins, you don't have Micah Williams, you don't have Samuel Kawano, and West is getting pushed around nonstop on the interior, then you're relying on Grayson Halton, who's more of a pass rusher, and Osa Digizua, who is one man.

Nick Bosa was integral into keeping this run defense, from having an utter death.

He was somehow keeping them afloat and giving them a fighting chance against the Rams team, who still had over 120 yards rushing and didn't win.

It's almost the fourth quarter.

And to end the third quarter, they go for a QB sneak.

And Grayson Holden, Ironically enough, another rookie defensive tackle making a play at the goal line, like Alfred Collins did last year.

He's like an angel on the sideline, out there flapping his wings, flapping his crutches, like, I'm here in spirit, guys.

You know, it's interesting.

They had the Alfred Collins injury.

They had this.

Maybe it's not the substation.

He's important.

Hopefully they stay a little bit healthier.

Losing Alfred Collins for the year, is, is a big time bummer for San Francisco.

Um, but you have a guy in Grayson Holton who can kind of step in and hopefully, um, mitigate that loss to a degree.
