Alfie Lloyd

Those two weren't kind of on the right-- on the same page.

I, I felt quite bad for Alfie Lloyd when he got pushed out to the right because I think from a tactical point of view, I think it's the right decision to try and, um, have two, let's say, proper, proper wide men.

But he looked lost, to be honest.

He didn't know the right runs to make.

He didn't know when to hug the touchline, when to come in, when to give a better outlet to his fullback, et cetera.

This is all in the colleagues sort of discussion.

But yeah, he spoke about how Alfie Lloyd, again, was someone who has the right attitude and has the right attitude to do whatever it takes to be a part of this club.

Both Dan and Stefan have spoken about having the right mentality to want to be a part of the club.

I remember there was a game where he came on and scored two goals last season off his first maybe four or five touches.

He has the ability to finish so well and at the moment there's a need for him with Kone's fitness being in question and Abikwu still not really being up to speed.

And he's like a completely different player to Alfie Lloyd as well.

So he'd offer so much if he was to be fit and ready and effective.

And even though we might not have the exact profile, that we're speaking about now, midfield, I just felt as though having a three-man midfield and to be fair to him, actually, Kamara has sometimes made that run beyond, which we didn't really expect from him as a player from what we'd heard, but he kind of does it and maybe if you had a third man there, but then...

As we saw in the second half when they decided to go to three players in midfield, Alfie Lloyd was on the right wing, which I love Alfie Lloyd.

Got a lot of good things to say about him, but I don't think he's very well suited to playing as a winger.

He's not a winger.

yeah well that game we had we started with harvey velvet he was very much drifting inside especially given we had so much possession i feel like that was quite a clear game plan for him to just drift into that almost right central midfield position yeah the ball um So had him starting on the wing, Smith, who missed the biggest chance of the game probably.

And then we had Alfie Lloyd.

Scarlett came on and we played a bit crew on the left wing.

Five changes to the Blackburn game.

Uh, most notably Alfie Lloyd coming in for Richard Kone and pairing Borel up top.

Two goals for Borel either side of halftime.

Probably should have had a hat-trick realistically.

It's a game where we're gonna have a lot less of the ball.

Borough are very good in possession.

They would play, we just mentioned Cardiff wanting to keep the ball and play a high line, Barel and Lloyd exploited that a lot.

Borough, you're playing a far better team who wanna do the same, like getting Barel in behind, having Smith as an option to do that from a wide position as well.

Um, any- Alfie Lloyd, let's talk about him.

He looked really good against Cardiff, I think.

Um, but no, I remember speaking to them after the game and they were like, "Can we please have Alfie Lloyd back?"

But that one just needed him to, to go with his left foot.

But I thought Alfie Lloyd had one of his much better games for, for QPR against Cardiff.

I, I wanna talk on Alfie Lloyd.

I know you just mentioned him then, but I was watching the game and, look, I, I've got a lot of time for Alfie Lloyd.

Uh, I don't wanna talk about him too much, but I think i- in front of goal he just, just needs to finish, finish his dinner.

He does all the hard work that, you know, you, you want from that sort of player playing in that position, but he just can't finish his dinner and it's, it's frustrating as a fan to watch.

So at least with like Burrell, for example, you know, Kone's around.

So you can swap because Alfie Lloyd started in this game and looked busy and dangerous.

At the moment, players are fit, players are firing, but they've got depth and that's the big difference going into this season for QPR.
