Welcome back to Alfea: The Dragon Empire, part two.

Our heroes continue their investigation of the Opal Lounge and dealing with the myriad of problems, and consequences, and puzzles that are before them to continue on.

The mysterious Calzanis and the deal that seems to have been made with Mr. Emerald and the Diadem, uh, the matter of the cursed tattoos with Farrier and Alejandro, as well as discovering more things, useful things and money in Peridot's office.

But her desire for human affection leaves Polyard vulnerable, and Vomicron uses the ghoul's ability to take the shape of a recently deceased individual.

to confront Polyard in the guise of a recently deceased woman named Alfea.

Unlike Glyftard's experience of being Umbra Vendran, Vomicron is able to wear Alfea as a kind of second skin, their two minds intermingling, and Vomicron maintaining control.

And he puppets Alfea to... lure Polyard out of Glutoria's nest, where he can then incite both Glutoria to attack him and a confused mob of human mourners and watchmen who see what they think is a ghoul trying to abduct a child in their midst.

The end result is bad for Glutoria.

as the watch delivers blows that would kill a human being, but leave a ghoul in a state of torpor and unconsciousness.

And the people of this city have very real concerns.

for which they seek historical real-world remedies that often have historical real-world outcomes.
