Alexander Valley AVA

All right.

Now, Yael Bernier is, again, one of our most benchmark farmers and farm families of a farm family that I got to meet in the Alexander Valley and in Healdsburg, who has brought garlic to the pinnacle of garlicness and also continues to be very involved in our community.

Number one, they're dual Appalachian.

Yeah, because they're Alexander Valley.

When we talk about Sonoma, listen, Napa's dope, but the value is still, for lack of a better term, is like Alexander Valley, Moon Mountain District.

And they knew that.

So you have these dual Appalachians, which is great.

God is a gale, so there's that.

And then took a job up at Clos de Bois, the hospitality room up there in Alexander Valley.

And then never looked back.

And so, and I just moved up within the parent company, which was Allied Domecq at the time.

But again, one of the things that's so important to me is, and in this whole discussion, is the images and the feelings that I get when I have something to eat that I've had somewhere or that comes from somewhere, from something.

When Michelle says Jimtown store, I think of myself coming over that ridge and seeing the Alexander Valley and having my heart race and having my breath deepen and having my cheeks flush.

I'm exhausted.

But...

And, uh, honestly, all we were doing was we were looking for a little piece of property up north to take our kids, uh, you know, in the summertime and, uh, on weekends and things like that to get out in nature.

And, uh, it just so happened that, uh, in Sonoma County up north where we were in Alexander Valley where we bought this property, that a lot of my neighbors were successfully growing grapes.

And I, I, I realized, like, my life needed to be a little bit more stable and, and something to anchor me.

Um, and so I thought about it.
