A decision is expected by the end of the court's term, which typically concludes in June.

Archbishop Alexander Sample of Portland, Oregon, is calling his entire archdiocese to a season of renewal, rooted in personal holiness, recommitted clergy, and a revitalized culture of evangelization.

In a pastoral letter titled, Go Therefore and Make Disciples of All Nations, released October 1st, the archbishop described what he called a watershed moment in the church, particularly in Western Oregon, pointing to a growing interest in the faith among young people.

He exhorted priests to draw closer to Christ and to one another, while stressing that Catholic education must be grounded in Catholic anthropology and the mission of evangelization.
