A two-run walk-off home run off of Alex Reyes sending the Dodgers to San Francisco in a best-of-five NLDS.

They would beat the Giants in five games and then lose to the Braves in the NLCS.

But Chris Taylor, with that walk-off home run in the wild-card game, became just the fifth player in baseball history to hit a walk-off home run in a winner-take-all game.

I mean, it's unprecedented.

This is truly like a once in a, like every 10, 20 years, you get a prospect like this in your organization, you know? I know the Cardinals have had some guys that are amongst the top prospects in all of baseball, whether it be Jordan Walker, Alex Reyes at one point, Oscar Tavares.

But...

I don't think it's far-fetched to say that Rainy L is a better prospect than all those guys.

Give up six runs, oh well, he's our closer"? How long do you do that?

It reminds me a little bit of Alex Reyes in 2021, where he was great, he was an All-Star, and then you start to see things just kinda getting away a little bit, just not lights out, and maybe even losing some confidence, just kinda nibbling around the plate.

A lot of walks, a lot of balls, behind in counts.

And then with Reyes, it just seemed like it took forever for them to say-

Those are going to be the guys that aren't necessarily going to be aces, but they will have the ceiling potentially to be aces, depending on what they do between now and whenever they make those major league debuts and break ground here.

I don't forget Alex Reyes' career being ruined by injuries, Trevor Rosenthal having his career, uh, definitely shortened and ruined by injury, Seth Maness, Kevin Siegrist, Jordan Hicks, Jason Mott, Matt Bowman.

Um, I mean, I could go on and on and on.

So if all of us were making fun over the fact that, you know, th- these managers would just go completely nuts in pushing their relievers too much, too hard, not taking better care of them, I, wh- wh- why are we jumping on this guy for exercising restraint where in what I've seen, managers of the past, there was no restraint, and that's why you had, you, you had all these great relievers blow their arms out.

They had so many eggs in this Jordan Walker basket.

They had so many eggs in the Alex Reyes and, um, Tink Hence baskets.
