Did you want to maybe talk a little bit about some of the work that you were doing with FLO documenting pistachios that were damaged due to flooding that happened after the winter of 2022 to 2023?

Alejandro HernandezGUEST
Yeah, so after those atmospheric rivers, I mean, yeah, some of those orchards were flooded for almost three or four weeks constantly.

Alejandro HernandezGUEST
And initially, as those trees were beginning to emerge out of dormancy, the leaflets were kind of beginning to emerge and looking normal.

Alejandro HernandezGUEST
But as the months progressed and they kind of noticed a little bit, of stunting of the leaflets on maybe the left-hand side of the tree, whereas the right-hand side of the tree, the leaves were looking fine and healthy.

Alejandro HernandezGUEST
And so actually following those floods, we got a lot of calls where people were actually suspicious of verticillium because we know with verticillium, they'll affect one scaffold of one branch and they cause kind of the stunting and dieback of maybe one side of the tree.

Alejandro HernandezGUEST
However, One thing that kind of was suspicious to me is a lot of these calls were being called on orchards that were on UCB1 rootstocks or PG1 rootstocks, which we know, of course, are highly tolerant to verticillium.

Alejandro HernandezGUEST
But not only that, when you made that cross section of the branch, you did happen to see a couple brown streakings or a couple of brown dots in that vascular tissue that were similar to verticillium.

Can you start off with in vitro assays and maybe just give like just a one sentence description of what an in vitro assay is first?
