Alec Soth

Who am I talking about? Well, Alex Soph, born in 1969, a photographer born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He's published over 30 books, including Sleeping by the Mississippi, Niagara, Broken Manual, Songbook, I Know How Furiously Your Heart Is Beating, a pound of pictures and advice for young artists.

Soph has had over 50 solo exhibitions, including survey shows organised by Jeux de Pomme in Paris, the Walker Arts Centre in Minnesota, the Media Space in London and the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum.

Soph has been the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards, including the Guggenheim Fellowship, In 2008, he created Little Brown Mushroom, a multimedia enterprise focused on visual storytelling.

Even well-known artists who apply to the fair like anyone else get rejected.

Alex Soth, a former staff photographer at the museum, who is now among the most in-demand photographers in the world, a member of the Magnum Photos Group, publishing in The New Yorker, has entered the competition several times and been rejected.

We regret to inform you that your piece titled Brooklyn Center, Minnesota entered in Class 8 Photography Digital Process 2019. was not selected to move on to Phase 2 of the jury process.

He was told in a note, Thank you for your participation! And then another year, Sothe won.
