Alec Anderson

So if the Bills can establish up front, and again, my biggest concern with the Bills' offensive line is that Connor McGovern has not He's just practiced this past week.

We haven't seen him since the spring, right? At center, like Alec Anderson is the new starting left guard.

It's not David Edwards anymore.

So there's some newness up there.

You know what I mean? McGovern has been dinged up at camp.

That and Alec Anderson being a new starter and Aaron Cromer not being the O-line coach anymore.

Add all that up, and I feel good about the offensive line, but I don't feel like it's something that I could set it and forget it and not even have to worry about like I have the past few years.

I was going to say, it's almost felt like that the last three or four years, right? That like the Bills, they would maybe rotate out the left guard, but over the last two years, David Edwards was such a rock there at left guard.

He's played every snap, essentially.

You got the two tackles that are really good and really athletic.

In general, I mean, because of the changes, there's a little bit more of a question mark, but I think the fact that Alec Anderson is like a homegrown talent and He started at right tackle in that game against Pittsburgh last year where they ran for a million yards in that game.

He's been that extra jumbo blocker.

Colin, thoughts on your... perception of how this Buffalo Bills offense is going to sort of tackle this defense in Houston.

You know, the guy who got the bag the most recently, Osiris Torrance, him, McGovern, and Alec Anderson are going to be the reason the Bills win this game.

I'm looking at the lineup with Caden McDonald out.

They've got a weak rotation right now.

I think the game's going to be won in the trenches.

And I think that's the sort of football, of course, that Joe Brady and this team wants to play.

I think of Alec Anderson specifically at that left guard position.

That's one of the big questions.

Evan Anderson, I think that's his name, left guard for the Bills, would appear to be in for some hurt, especially if the Texans target him where they move around pass rushers.

There are some questions there.

I mean, Alec Anderson hasn't done it on a regular basis.

I've got concerns about him as a pass blocker, which one would think would be tested over and over and over this particular game.

And then in the short term, Ty Johnson not being on the field is a big-time question because Ray Davis can certainly handle the third-down rolls, but he's a different type player.

And that defense that's supposed to be, you know, crazy schematics and this and that, if you haven't had a lot of guys out there getting reps, like they don't have time on task.

Uh, and then also on their O-line, you know, Connor McGovern hasn't really practiced much, and they have a new guard next to him, and they haven't had a lot of chemistry next to each other.

So, um, they've had a ton of injuries, you know, so that's something that could be in the Texans advantage there.

Shout out Fuel Labs, "If Brown doesn't hold up, should, should you leave him in or move Rutledge over?" Um, I guess it depends on, like, [clears throat] how bad that is.

You could move Ru- Rutledge over.

You could even put Andrews in.

But I would suspect that Rutledge is probably your center too, and then maybe- That would put Wyatt, Wyatt back at left guard.

But, um, Brown has been solid, dude.
